Tis the Season - for Crafting!

Lots I'm planning, lots I'm doing. Halloween was crazy fun, we went all out with the house, had big fun, and organized my son's classroom celebration.

Also my hubby's birthday in early November, made a super cute card, if I do say so myself!

I'm crocheting like a field, lots of projects planned and purchases made planning for Xmas! Can't wait, I vow to be done early enough that I actually get to enjoy the holiday!

Insomnia = Watching Jimmy Fallon

One of the benefits of not being able to get to sleep is late night TV. I'm a night owl by nature, and while its so hard to get up when I need to in AM, late night people are my kind of people!!!

I was watching last night, and heard the plug for Justin Timberlake coming on, and this was the night that I fell asleep before the show was over!!!! Wah, wah!

So today, I hear all about how awesome the segment was, I found it, and here it is. Its awesome, I love JT, and Jimmy has become a fave too! For those who say nothing good happens after a certain time, I beg to differ! Enjoy and thanks for sharing, Hulu!

Fall Changes Coming....

Wow, its been over a month since my last post???? Ugghhh...I stink.

I've been crocheting like crazy, started a new book, and am working to try to get life organized. It's not working! I'm feeling a need to change the blog, get motivated to give this more time so I keep the few followers I have! :)

Summer was awesome, lots of fun for the kiddo, lots a Grandma time. Just a couple pics that summarize the Summer and I'll be working on pics of my two newest baby blankets I crocheted for gifts.

Love the feel of Fall coming, and I'm excited to bust out Halloween decorations!

Craft Mojo

I've realized as life gets busier....the longer I go without doing something, I get rusty. And not just working out, certainly that happens and quickly!

I never thought it was a fair balance how long it takes to get in shape, and how quickly you lose that!

But the same is true, I've found, when it comes to creativity. It makes me so happy when I get to make something. And the more I make, the more ideas I get. You just have to start somewhere, again, like exercise.

Just start!

Yesterday, I took an awesome class from ladies at 7Gypsies, Paula and Deb, who also have the blog, "One Lucky Day" http://www.2gypsygirls.com/. The class was so great, and everyone was so much fun. We were all so excited to be there!

I have a little more to do before I have a finshed project, I had to leave class a little early. But i look forward to sharing it, and hopefully more classes soon to keep my "mojo"!

New Ippity Coming

Its been a busy time with work, I've learned to crochet, thanks for my sis-in-law, and have been obsessed with that!

It was my 9th wedding anniversary today, I love you, Thomas!

And...Ippity stamps has a new release coming, I just used some Ippity for an anniversary card. I need to scan and post, that I'll work to get up soon.

More CHA Excitement - I love me some 7Gypsies!

Its the Most Wonderful Time of the Year!!

OK, so I guess if you're not a crafter, you're thinking "what is she talking about?". I'm a craft industry insider wannabe. CHA is coming up soon, and if you don't know what CHA is, its the Craft and Hobby Association. That means all the craft companies and bring out new product, new ideas, new toys....I LOVE it!

So, since its been so long since my last post, what's been going on?

• Long weekend at the beach, lots of great pics I need to download.
• Learned to crochet, thanks for my SIL, I've made 3 scarfs.
• Down another body at work, my assistant had surgery.
• Got a summer cold, still working through that.
• High school reunion coming up in a couple of weeks.
• Lots of movies, my fave so far was Eclipse!!!
• Trying to get my house cleaned and organized. :(
• My hubby is walking again, slowly but surely!

I'm feeling so motivated by all the crafting fun...I have to bust out and make some stuff. Oh, and some amazing tutorials about making fabric and paper flowers, I can't wait to make some and share with you! Have a good one!

Long Time, No Post!

Wow...its been a long time since my last post! Lots going on, Connor turned 8, work is crazed and I wish more than ever that I would win the lottery! Baseball ended, but we've had lots of fun things we've been doing like picnics, dodger games, pizza parties, sheesh!

Oh, and if you haven't heard about this already, there's an iPhone app called Hipstamatic. I just love this more than I can say, its so cool! The picture here is using this app when we were at a Dodger game on Connor's birthday! I've also been playing some with a new trial version of PSE, I'm looking forward to learning more, I'll post some of my projects soon!

More craziness coming, my mom's retirement, school ending, lots of changes coming. Bring on the Summer, I'm ready!

Fun Day!!

Its a great day today, lots of fun things going on! First, I'd like to thank you for the nice words and encouragement after my hubby's accident!! Things are progressing and going well! He got a new stylish black cast today, and we had a nice grown up lunch, just the two of us. That doesn't happen too often.

{Ippity} stamps has a new Spring release unveiling today and their stamps are great! I'm an {Ippity} Chick, so if you're interested, let me know! I just got mine and I can't wait to play!

Oprah's show today was about the newest Twilight Saga movie, Eclipse! New clips were on, the cast, I'm so glad I got to see it! I can't wait for June 30th, I'll be there at midnight for the movie!

It was a great day, I hope you're having a good one as well!

Time to Be Thankful!

I know its not November, but with some of my family drama going on right now, I'm reminded to be so very thankful.

My husband was in a motorcycle accident last week. We thought initially broken wrist, ankle and finger. Not great, but doable. Throughout the week, with doctor appointments every day, we've uncovered the breaks are all very serious and required surgical consideration. We also found one, maybe two underlying conditions that require care, and more tests next week before we can have surgery to pin the wrist and finger.

Its very likely that the accident caused us to find other health issues before they became too serious. We're tired, weary, and scared. Its a reminder that life can change in an instant, quite literally, and to be thankful each and every day.

Belated Easter

Hi, there!

I've been so bad about downloading my pictures. I finally got an adapter to make it easier, so I'm getting caught up. I wanted to post some of our Easter activities and my favorite Easter project.

For my eggs, they're paper mache egg boxes, painted, then covered with clearn glass glitter. I scallop cut white paper for the edge, and used my favorite Martha Stewart punches for the butterflies and hydrangea.

Late Night Projects

I finally shoe-horned some time to do a project this week. I love doing things for Connor's school, but sometimes its a lot for me to fit in. For example, this is the second year I'm making invites for parties that reward fundraising. Multiple parties and a lot of volume. In the middle of getting them together, my husband had a motorcycle accident. The good news is he's home and not in a hospital. But he broke multiple bones and may need pins in his ankle to put "Humpty" back together again.


So, I had a couple of late nights getting all 65 of the root beer float invites together. I do this to myself, I hate to not finish what I started. There were incredibly supportive friends offering help that, of course, I turned down. I tend to do very detailed, time consuming projects, so simplifying things is counter intuitive for me. But, here's what I made, and I do think they came out pretty cute afterall. Crafting is my therapy, afterall, so it all worked out!





Connor also lost his second front tooth, he looks really cute with his two front teeth out.

Happy Easter, everyone! Lots of activities today, not much sleep, but I have the week off, enjoying some Spring Break action, and will finally have some time to use my new stamps and other craft goodies. Will post pictures of Easter and craft projects soon! Hope you all have a wonderful day!

Easter is When??

OK, so today, I realized Easter is next weekend!! Yikes! We took out a couple of our storage bins and I have Easter decs spreadout and waiting to be organized. I lost my "mantle" when we bought a TV big enough that we had to take to top off our entertainment center.

So...yard work, planting, weeding, all general Spring activities today, since baseball dominated the day yesterday. And, Connor's team won, yay! I also had some "quality" time with my DVD of "New Moon" - I'm a Twihard, there, I've said it! :)

No pics of the flowers, sorry, it was too dark by the time I was done. I will tomorrow...I hope!

I'm back from Florida, still playing "catch up", but we're in the full swing of baseball season. I'm also feeling Spring all around. We bought a couple of gorgeous Chinese Magnolia trees and hope to plant them this weekend.

I bought some Easter goodies tonight and hope to get my decorations out this weekend too. I have some Easter decorations that I just love and look forward to putting out every year.

Greetings from Clearwater Beach, FL! I'm here for work, so truly, not much time for any fun. It's a stressful trip, a stressful event, and I hate the time away from home. What I'm doing for "fun" is sleeping, mostly. A delayed red-eyed meant I didn't get in my room until around 1:00pm EST. Between that, the time difference, then daylight savings, ugghh! We had a cocktail reception on the beach tonight. The weather has been a little cool out here, it was warmer at home! We had a beautiful sunset tonight...ask me why I forgot to take a picture????

I missed Connor's baseball game on Saturday, but had lots of calls and text messages with updates. Family and friends showed up in masse, which was great and I'm just sorry I missed it! I hope to get a chance to walk the beach tomorrow, Connor likes me to bring home shells. Let's not repeat what I did last year, where one of the shells still had the critter inside!!! I screamed so loud...Connor thought it was one of the funniest things he's seen!

Had a laptop scare, I'm just thankful I'm up tonight and will post more soon. When I get home, I have soooo many cards to make, I'm looking forward to putting some projects up soon! Take care!

The Countdown

Its been a few days since my last post. I told myself I would wait until I uploaded some pictures or actually made something to show. Alas, neither has happened...baseball has taken up so much time, as have school projects, and now, getting ready for a business trip to the East Coast. So...when I get back, pictures and projects will come.

Connor's team is 2-0, in his first game, and his first at bat, he belted one out to right field. He got so excited he started running toward third! Good thing he hit it out that far, it allowed him to get over to first and was still safe!

I busted out the diecutting machine today to help Connor with a class project. I took a little time with my dies, planning out some projects. I crave a little time to actually make something! I did have a couple of fun packages arrive recently. I ordered some stamp sets from Paper Tray Ink, a couple of them have a sports theme and I have something in mind for those. I also bought on eBay a Catalina Island vintage postcard. I plan on making cards for my friend Jackie who will live at Catalina and run a B&B, if she ever wins the lottery. I'll be her first investor if I'm the lucky one!

Field Trip Day!

According to Connor, "We won, Mom"! My name was drawn as one of the fieldtrip chaparones!!! I took the day off and will be going to the Aquarium of the Pacific with about 60 2nd graders. I'll be toting a backpack with about 5 or 6 lunches and be responsible for my little group. I'm actually looking forward to this, but being the mom of 1 kid, I'm a little nervous about herding a small group.

I'm sure it'll be fun, wish me luck!

Dandelions are the best flowers!

When is a dandelion the best flower around? When your 7 year old son brings one in the house and proudly says, "Here Mom, this is for you!" I love having a son!

Rain won out, no baseball this weekend, but selfishly, I was able to work in my garage and work on cleaning up, weeding out, and reorgainzing my craft area. I might actually be able to make something soon! Although Connor and I have been making craft foam Easter eggs from a kit he had. I made a cardboard wreath form, wrapped it with ribbon, and will be adding the eggs soon. Connor's been very enthusiastic about this project and can't wait to finish and have that up for him to enjoy!

Rain or Baseball?

So, the forecast is for rain, a lot of rain. Opening day is supposed to be tomorrow for Covina American little league, with ceremonies in the AM and a game in the PM. Wish us luck, if we're rained out tomorrow, then we shoot for Sunday, if not Sunday, then who knows.

Busy week, I'm shooting to get some pictures uploaded to the blog and get that part going. I'm hoping to be able to do some crafting this weekend as well. More new goodies arrived today, including Spellbinders cherry frameabilities, some new paper from Winter CHA, and some Quickutz. Wish me luck with some sleep and time management!

Jonesing for Spring

Spring is in the air, I have some flowers that I bought and still need to plant...some Status, which already are making my porch smell great, daisies, all happy flowers that are cute or smell great!

I'm also in a crafting mood, I haven't busted out my goodies, but have instead been buying some things. For starters, I'm finally getting into the Copic Marker scene, got the pastel set and the Copic Atyou Spica Set B glitter pens. I have a few more things on order, I'll make sure to share when they come and also post the fruits of my shopping!

On a makeup note, I have to tell you how much I love 100% Pure products. I opened up a fresh mascara today, Black Tea is the color, and it never ceases to amaze me that makeup can smell that good!
